LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- One of the best parts about living in Southwest Florida for many people is the chances for wildlife encounters that are easily available.

Take a look at this video of one of those encounters that recently happened at the Fort Myers Beach pier.

Viewer Rachel Frazer shared this video she recorded on Sunday before heading to the airport.

It shows a dolphin in the water near the pier as several swimmers stand around for a closer look. The dolphin begins zig-zagging and darting through the water, at one point heading directly towards a swimmer before veering away.

While this may seem like harmless fun, FWC says swimming with or feeding dolphins can be dangerous for both human and dolphin and should not be attempted.
