There is an update on Lake Okeechobee following hurricane Dorian from the Army Corps and The South Florida Water Management.

District water leaders were worried the storm could cause it to rise more than 3 feet however it looks to be only a few inches higher compared to last week.

There will be no new water releases this week the Army Corps says.

The focus will be to send water South, they say the Herbert Hoover Dike is in a good position and at low-risk.

Repairs on the dike are scheduled to be completed in 2022. The Army Corps will reassess the water level next week to see if they need to make any adjustments.
