Woman bit by alligator in North Fort Myers

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) responded to a call of an alligator bite incident near Heron's Glen Road in Fort Myers.

Lee County Emergency Services responded to the scene where a 27-year-old female was reportedly bitten by an alligator while trimming trees along the lake's edge.

The victim was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, where she was treated for injuries to both legs and stable.

The FWC is on the scene, and a contracted nuisance alligator trapper was dispatched to the location. A 10-foot-4-inch alligator was removed from the immediate area.
