FORT MYERS, Fla. - A neighborhood on the edge of Lehigh and Fort Myers has been gutted by car burglars.

A couple of weeks ago, Sheriff's deputies arrested a couple.  With Michael Gonzales-Galas and Sady Zaldivar behind bars, investigators thought the crime spree was over.   But that's not the case.

A sign six feet by three feet says it all: "We were robbed last night. Will shoot to kill."

Nearly a dozen people living along Billings Street in Buckingham had their cars broken into, and they're angry.

"They picked the wrong neighborhood to screw with, because my neighbors are ticked off. I had a guy, one of the guys across the street, drove around all night last night looking for people," says victim Bob Butler.

Even more disturbing, the victims here say they've been warned that this is just the first wave.  "They're looking for registrations and clickers for your garage. So I bring mine in every night now. They're coming back to rob you later. while your at work or doing what ever your doing," says Butler.

The whole experience is leaving the people who live here exhausted and saddened.

"We're just gonna start keeping an eye out for each other. I mean I'm afraid to leave my house," says resident Denel Butler.
