Red Sox spring training tickets go on sale

Posted

Red Sox fans from across southwest Florida lined up on early to get their hands on spring training tickets.

Tickets went on sale Saturday morning.

"Oh it started fairly early about a quarter to seven on the road to get up here and got here quarter after seven," said Bill Black, proudly wearing his David Ortiz shirt.

But a quarter after seven Saturday morning wasn't the earliest fans got to Jet Blue Park. Some fans camped out since Friday afternoon.

"I just love to get the tickets, hoping to get the tickets for the games I want. If you get here early, the better chance you have," said Tom Souza, who has lined up early for tickets the past seven years.

A lot of the fans consider themselves experienced veterans at camping out. Bill black has lined up early for spring training tickets the last seventeen years.

"I don't know if it is important but it's like a tradition once you start coming," said Black.

Red Sox fans hope to score seats close to all the action.

"I like to sit right down by the dugout right down by the field," said Black.

But sitting close to the field isn't the only motivation fans had.

"I'm trying to get the Yankees," said Souza.

Red Sox fans from all across southwest Florida are looking forward to spring training to start.

"It is something I look forward to every year. I've been a Red Sox fan all my life and spring training is kind of a special time of year," said Black

Red Sox spring training starts on February 23rd.
