A Sanibel woman is charged with setting fire to two homes on the Island earlier this month.

27-year-old Ariel Winslow was booked into the Lee County Jail Thursday.  According to police, she set fire to a home she lived in that is also owned by her father.

Al Helo says he left his home on 939 Beach Road the morning of January 7th.  When he returned, the home was on fire, and Winslow was gone.

Neighbors say the owner tried to go inside the home while it was on fire.  "Just so desperate, and the firemen wouldn't let him in.  It's so mean," said Jillian Bath, who lives nearby.

Winslow is also being charged with setting fire to a home on 6451 Pine Avenue, just south of Capitva.

A couple renting the home told police they noticed scorch marks on the porch.

Fox 4 spoke with Winslow's lawyer, but he declined to comment on the case.  A manager at R.C. Otters in Captiva says WInslow worked at the restaurant as a hostess and server, and did not cause any problems.
