FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Gathering to say goodbye to a Southwest Florida legend. Friday, many will pay their final respects to Veronica Shoemaker, a Southwest Florida leader that left her mark on the city of Fort Myers.

The wake will be Friday evening from 6-8pm at Mount Olive (2754 Orange Street), and her funeral will take place Saturday at noon at the Harborside Event Center (1375 Monroe Street, Fort Myers).
