CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Beginning Wednesday users of the grocery delivery service Shipt will also be able to have alcohol delivered to their home.
ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, which has already worked with Shipt in the Orlando and South Florida areas, will now be including Southwest Florida in its delivery area.
The full selection of items in stock at ABC’s local stores will be available to Shipt members through the app. Members can select a one-hour delivery window with delivery times available as soon as one hour after the order is placed.
Orders can include beer, wine, spirits and growlers, as well as mixers and bar essentials.
To verify age, members will scan their IDs through the app and will be required to present the same identification to the Shipt Shopper upon delivery.
A Shipt subscription runs $99 per year, and provides free grocery deliveries, as well as access to Shipt’s alcohol delivery service. Alcohol delivery orders feature in-store prices, and members will experience a $7 service fee for their delivery, though the delivery fee will be waived on orders over $35 through October.
Delivery will be available from 15 local ABC stores in Sarasota and surrounding areas in Lee, Collier, Manatee and Charlotte Counties, including the cities of Naples, Ft. Myers and Bradenton, and statewide at 83 ABC stores.
