Six charged in vandalism of Mariner High School

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Six young individuals have been arrested for causing over $600 in damage on the campus of Mariner High School last week.

In the early morning hours of May 26th, six suspects were seen on surveillance video breaking into the locked campus of Mariner High and gluing the locks of nine doors, and causing other damage.

Four suspects were taken into custody within the first 24 hours, and the other two arrests were made more recently.

All six suspects were charged with one count of burglary and one count of property damage/criminal mischief. 

Arrested for the break-in were:

  • 19-year-old Austin Vickers
  • 18-year-old Norlin Casas
  • 18-year-old Robert Taylor
  • 20-year-old Marcel Valenzuela-Cesar
  • A 17-year old male
  • A 14-year-old female

Five of the suspects have been booked and released, however Vickers remains in custody at the Lee County Jail this morning, following his arrest Thursday afternoon.
