Southwest Florida animal shelters taking in dogs from flooded Louisiana

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Southwest Florida animal rescues are teaming up to help victims of the deadly flooding.

Officials with Paws Lee County, the Gulf Coast Humane Society, and the Animal Refuge Center are now doing what they can to help.

Many animals were lost when shelters in Louisiana flooded. Some of those still being rescued are being transported to Southwest Florida for care.

45 dogs were brought in just in the last day.
