People celebrated the luck of the Irish, Friday night in Downtown Fort Myers.
Participants having fun were very aware of the cameras installed in the streets. This comes after a deadly shooting at Zombicon in 2015.
People at the celebration say they feel safer attending the event knowing there are cameras in the area.
"Anything can happen so yes, I think having a camera lessens peoples fears for coming to outings like this," said Kay Taylor.
The city installed 115 cameras throughout Downtown.
"Safety is always a concern when you have small kids like this. I also have other children here with me tonight; however, downtown safety hasn't been an issue that much," said Randy Hurt.
"I definitely don't go to big crowded events anymore but at the same time you can't stop living your life because of one incident. I definitely more aware of my surroundings. As you can see there's plenty of space around me," said Betzaida Crespo.
