3 deaths confirmed from Idalia in Florida

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Medical Examiners have confirmed three storm-related deaths in Alachua, Brevard and Dixie Counties after Idalia's landfall

The Florida Medical Examiners Commission reported that a 59-year-old man died in Alachua County while driving in the storm on August 30. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed.

In Brevard County, a 60-year-old male died from drowning while wind surfing on the Banana River during a tropical storm warning.

A third death has also been confirmed in Dixie County, in the Big Bend area.

Idalia made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane the morning of August 30.
