TAMPA, Fla. -- We're getting a new look offering clues about what happened in the final seconds before a horrific multi-car crash in Tampa.  Five are dead and two people are fighting for their lives in the hospital because of that crash.

A video has surfaced from a Snapchat account the posted just minutes before the crash.  It shows a wide open road with the VW Golf accelerating.

The snap was posted at 9:38 p.m. Wednesday night.  Nine minutes later, the driver in the snap, Pablo Cortes, and his girlfriend who was recording hit a mother and her two kids in a mini-van head on. All 5 were killed.

Another family friend is fighting for her life.

One man says he still can't believe he is alive.  "It was going so fast that it hopped the median and flew over my car and hit the car behind me, directly behind me.  I escaped. It's just traumatic," said witness Efrain Rodriguez.

Troopers say the cause of the crash was not street racing, it was speeding.

A witness says he saw nothing but the one car accelerating on a wide open road, with no other cars around them.
