DESOTO, Fla. — State Road 70 at Northwest Florida Avenue in Desoto County was closed in both directions from a fatal crash involving a semi-truck from Cape Coral.
According to the report, vehicle one was traveling East on State Road 70 while a semi-truck was also traveling on State Road 70 going West. Vehicle one had entered the westbound lane of travel and the front of vehicle one collided with the front of the semi-truck.
Both vehicles caught fire. The driver of one vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
FHP is pending the identification of the deceased driver and says the crash remains under investigation.
