FLORIDA CITY, Fla. (AP) - A 13-year-old girl has died after authorities say she was accidentally shot by her brother.
Authorities say the girl's brother and a friend were handling the gun when it went off at their Florida City home on Tuesday night.
The Miami Herald (https://tinyurl.com/la5bodb) reports the friend of the brother brought the gun into the house. No other details were released including the victim's name.
Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho called the killing "heartbreaking, reckless gun violence," on Twitter and criticized easy access to guns.
