Gov. DeSantis' plane makes emergency landing in St. Pete due to mechanical problems

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Governor Ron DeSantis' plane was diverted to St. Petersburg this afternoon due to mechanical problems.

He was on his way to Broward County with Attorney General Ashley Moody, his Chief of Staff Shane Strum and three members of his executive staff.

He is scheduled to make a statement on holding government officials accountable at 4:30 p.m.

The diversion will result in about a 90 minute delay in the governor's arrival.

We are working to gather more specifics on the mechanical problems that caused the plane to divert.
