SARASOTA, Fla. - A massive six-alarm fire engulfed a warehouse early Friday morning in Sarasota.
Fire broke out on Packinghouse Road at Palmer Boulevard, which is just a block off Interstate 75.
Authorities say 80 firefighters responded to the scene, working to preserve nearby businesses.
The blaze sent plumes of smoke across the interstate, prompting the Florida Highway Patrol to issue a travel advisory near mile marker 209.
The cause of the fire has not been released.
