Missing couple found dead in Apalachicola forest

Posted

APALACHICOLA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say they've found a missing man and woman dead in the Apalachicola National Forest in the Florida Panhandle.

Franklin County Sheriff's Capt. Brad Segree says two deputies found the bodies of 32-year-old Alvin Glenn Martina and 25-year-old Kaitlyn Noel Guillotte inside a Jeep on an unnamed road in the forest.

The News Herald (http://bit.ly/1JEvsy6 ) reports officials don't suspect foul play. They believe the vehicle became stuck in mud and the pair may have been overcome by carbon monoxide fumes. Autopsies were scheduled for Wednesday in Tallahassee.

Officials say family members last heard from the pair on Friday when they left a small hunting camp to look for firewood. Cellphone records provided a general area for the search.

Local pilots, the U.S. Forestry Service and state wildlife officials also assisted.
