SEBASTIAN, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a central Florida teen died in a crash a day after turning 18 and buying a new car.

Treasure Coast Newspapers (http://goo.gl/Dw5RF6) reports that Alexander Frith was killed early Sunday morning.

Sebastian Police Cmdr. John Blackledge says Frith was driving the new Dodge Charger through his neighborhood at about 80 mph when he went through two stop signs and then crashed head-on into a pickup truck. The other driver was hospitalized in serious condition.

Shortly before the collision, Frith reportedly clipped a pedestrian and knocked down a 20-mph speed sign.

Investigators didn't immediately know whether drugs or alcohol were involved, but police say he had hosted a party at his home the night before.
