Troopers search for truck in fatal hit and run

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers say the driver of a black truck fatally hit a pedestrian on Interstate 75 and then fled the scene Monday.

It happened around 11:30 AM near mile marker 240 near the Ruskin/Sun City Center exit in Hillsborough County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a passing motorist noticed the deceased person in the northbound lanes.  Arriving troopers determined it appeared to be a hit and run situation.

The victim is said to be a 38-year-old male.

FHP is currently searching for a black in color F150, F250 or Expedition type vehicle, possibly with a flat tire and damage to the right front of the vehicle.
