SIESTA KEY, Fla. -- Parking can be tough to find in Siesta Key village on busy holidays, but one driver took that issue a little too far Tuesday morning.

It happened at the Lobster Pot restaurant on Ocean Boulevard at 9:40 a.m.

Pictures posted online show a pickup truck blasted right through the front windows and into a seating area of the restaurant, making it about halfway in.

Restaurant management say that luckily nobody was injured inside the building during the crash, and that they hoped to reopen by the end of the day.

Florida Highway Patrol says the driver, 62-year-old Ernest Fouraker of Pennsylvania, apparently suffered a medical episode in the moments before the crash.  He was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment in serious condition.

A nearby parked car was damaged by debris from the crash.
