VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A naked Florida man was arrested on Friday at Daytona Beach International Airport after he prompted an evacuation with statements about a bomb.

Volusia County deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person at the airport around 6:30 a.m. Deputies say that the suspicious person, later identified as 25-year-old John T. Greenwood, had gone into an airport restroom that was under construction, placed a bag inside a hole in a wall and emerged from the restroom without wearing his clothes.

Greenwood went to the baggage claim area, where he was chased by responding deputies. Greenwood was only wearing a pair of socks at the time.

Deputies say he did not immediately comply with commands to lie down on the floor, and he made statements indicating a bomb was about to go off in the airport. A deputy deployed his Taser on Greenwood, who was then taken into custody.

Bomb and K-9 units cleared the terminal and confirmed there were no explosive devices. The airport was reopened around 9:40 a.m.

Charges are pending against Greenwood including burglary, making a false bomb report, criminal mischief, resisting arrest without violence, exposure of sexual organs and unlawful possession of personal identification of another person.
