Suspect sought in series of tire slashings in Matlacha

MATLACHA -- Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying an unknown man who slashed tires on 15 cars parked along Pine Island Road in Matlacha early Thursday evening.

The first incident was discovered around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, when an employee of Miceli’s Restaurant was advised that his tires had been slashed with a knife.  Upon further investigation, 14 other vehicles were found damaged along the roadside of 3922 Pine Island Road NW, with tires slashed on every one of them, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

 

Nearby surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, who is believed to be a white male, between 25 and 35 years of age, with a medium build.  A red box cutter was also found near the affected cars.
