CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police say a juvenile was shot in the arm during an armed robbery early Tuesday morning, and two suspects have been taken into custody in the case.

It happened around 1:30 AM near the 1000 block of NW 9th Avenue.

According to Cape Coral Police, the juvenile victim says he was robbed of his cell phone, bicycle, and $100 and was shot once by men that were known to them.

The victim, Elijah Czapiga, spoke to Fox 4 Tuesday and showed us his injuries.   "It just went straight through and through my arm and it missed...it just bounced off my ribs."

He ran to a house nearby asking for help, leaving this trail of blood and waiting with neighbors for police to respond.  "I  was just really shocked."

Officers quickly surrounded a nearby home where one of the suspects lives.  Several people not involved in the crime came out without incident.  The Cape Coral SWAT team and a helicopter were called to the scene, and the two suspects were ordered out of the house and taken into custody.

Investigators were at the scene into the afternoon, searching the home and a nearby canal.

Two male juveniles, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, have been charged with Robbery With a Firearm, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and Grand Theft.

Elijah's mom has a message for all parents to learn from an experience says she hopes no one will ever have to go through this.  "Just for parents to just be careful and constantly know where your kids are at at all times. Don't think that they have a right to have privacy because at this point in time they don't."
