CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is seeking your assistance in locating a suspicious vehicle in Port Charlotte.

According to CCSO, reports have been made of a suspicious red van operating in the area of the Cultural Center located on Aaron Street, during the early morning hours, usually around 6-6:30 am.

The Cultural Center is used for a school bus stop and may be in that area for that reason.

Dan Kinter has lived in the area for more than three years. He says his eyes are peeled for the suspicious driver.

"It's a little scary," he said. "I know there's been suspicious play around here before."

Bobbi Grant has grandchildren that get dropped off in front of the community center. Grant says she's seen the van driving slowly in the area.

"It was an older van and it was burgundy," she said. "The back window may have been broken."

While the driver has not been identified, concerned residents like Kinter say he'll be ready with questions for the man or woman behind the wheel.

"My questions would be what are you doing here? Do you have business here? Do you need something?"

Anyone having information regarding this vehicle is asked to contact the CCSO at 941-639-2101. Refer to Case 1609-005790.
