The shooting happened near a home on Velasco and Economy streets.  When police arrived on scene they found a 17-year-old had been shot.

He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with non-threatening injuries. Detectives working the case hope the victim and witnesses will have enough information to put the shooter behind bars.

"The victim is the person who holds the answers. We need the cooperation of all our victims and all of our witnesses in order to build strong cases against individuals who commit violence in the city of Fort Myers."
