Teens charged with car theft after tracker locates them

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Two Cape Coral teens are accused of stealing a car after a  tracking device found a stolen car with the boys sleeping inside.

18-year-old Hunter Sanborn and a 14-year-old cohort are both charged with Grant Theft Auto.

Police say the car's owner discover it missing from his driveway Tuesday morning and called police.  The owner was able to trace the car using the Lincoln GPS app to Southeast 46th Terrace, where he discover the two suspects asleep inside the car.

The car's owner admitted accidentally leaving the car's keys in the center console.

In addition the auto theft charge, Sanborn is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
