LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The residents of the hugely popular Southwest Florida Eagle Cam will soon be parents to a baby eaglet.
Harriet the eagle laid her first egg of the nesting season at her nest along Bayshore Road Saturday afternoon. Harriet's new partner M15 arrived shortly after to see the egg for the first time.
The new egg was announced Saturday evening on the cam's Facebook page.

It's been a drama-filled year at the nest along Bayshore Road. Earlier this year, Harriet's partner Ozzie was found injured and taken to CROW rehab for treatment. During that time, M15 moving into the nest, much to Ozzie's dismay when he was released. Ozzie was injured again in a fight with another eagle and passed away in September.
