The Tornado Warning issued by the National Weather Service has now expired in Collier County.

The warning was issued by the NWS at 5:17am Wednesday and expired at 5:45am as the storm moved into Monroe County.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are expected throughout Wednesday and Thursday. Thunderstorms that develop will be capable of producing strong gusty winds, locally heavy rains, deadly lightning strikes, and isolated tornadoes.

River flooding will be possible along area rivers, including the Peace River at Zolfo Springs, due to heavy rainfall forecasts.  Residents living along rivers or faster flowing streams should remain aware of water levels and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding be observed.
