Booms put in Cape Coral canals for algae relief

Posted

LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- Cape Coral put booms at the mouth of the Palaco Grande and Nassau Canals as part of their efforts to combat the blue-green algae plaguing our community.

The booms are being tested as a way to filter out the algae. The city says boats are still able to navigate around booms.

Cape Coral also tells Fox 4 they plan to install a bubble-curtain device at the mouth of the Mandolin canal. This should take place in the next few weeks.
