LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A major environmental activist will be touring Florida to address the ongoing water crisis in the state, and her tour includes a stop in Cape Coral next week.
Many Florida residents have reached out to Erin Brockovich, pleading for help bringing attention to the water issues surrounding toxic water in Lake Okeechobee.
And she is responding, according to a post on her Facebook page.
Saturday she will host a town hall meeting in Satellite Beach to discuss cancer concerns in connection to groundwater contamination.
Sunday she will be meeting with clean water advocates in Stuart.
Monday she will be touring operations in Lake Okeechobee.
On Tuesday a tour of the Everglades is planned.
Finally on Wednesday, a tour of the Caloosahatchee River is planned, with a public town hall at 1 p.m. in Cape Coral. The venue is yet to be determined.
