LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Fort Myers man accused of trying to kill his own wife last year is now standing trail.
Ygnacio Sanchez is charged with attempted murder and child abuse. Investigators say in September 2015, Sanchez shot his wife in the face at their home on Ortiz Avenue.
It reportedly happened during an unprovoked argument in front of their child.
Sanchez was eventually arrested after a brief standoff on Bellair Street.
The trial is expected to last about four days.
