COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Florida Highway Patrol says a trooper's car is totaled after hitting a bear.
It happened mile marker 93 on Alligator Alley. FHP tells Fox 4 the trooper hit a bear around 2:30 Monday morning while driving south on the Alley.
The bear died on scene and the trooper's patrol car is un-drivable. A tow truck was on scene earlier, helping clean up the accident. No word on the condition of the trooper.
