PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - The Punta Gorda Police Department is expected to address the media Thursday morning at 11 to provide an update to the investigation on the shooting death of Mary Knowlton Tuesday.

Police on Wednesday released the name of the officer who shot Knowlton during a citizen police demonstration at the department.

The officer was identified as Officer Lee Coel. Officer Coel was hired by the Punta Gorda Police Department on March 17, 2014. He is now on administrative leave.

The big question yet to be answered is how live ammunation made its way into the gun that was supposed to have blanks.

Chief Tom Lewis told reporters on Wednesday the type of gun used for the popular "Shoot, Don't Shoot" training simulation was a revolver that had been used in previous training sessions for two years and was only supposed to be carrying blanks, not live ammunition.

We will be at that press conference working to get answers on the deadly shooting.
