The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to identify two women caught on camera stealing clothing from Victoria's Secret at the Town Center Mall in Port Charlotte.

A store employee saw the two women near a table piled with clothes in the store. After they left the store, the table was empty. Deputies said they walked out of the store with the clothing in their big bags.

"Obviously they're very ignorant for going in and stealing stuff when there's cameras right above them," one shopper, Lee Kay said.

"Probably an impulse decision by them," another shopper, Cole Shelton, said.

The girls stole 14 pairs of pants, 13 tank tops, and 50 pairs of underwear, adding up to nearly $1700 in merchandise.

"There's a lot of hardworking people out there. They have to work for what they get. People that steal it like that, just ticks me off. It really grinds my gears," Cameron Turley said.

From April 2015 to April 2016, there were 96 thefts and burglaries at the Town Center Mall.

"I would up the security so crimes like this won't happen," Shelton said.

If you recognize the two women, call the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office at 941-258-3944.

"I can't sleep at night knowing people do that. Something's got to be done," Turley said.
