Watch: Bobcat sighting on nature preserve boardwalk in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla.  -- An exciting wildlife encounter was recently caught on video at a Southwest Florida nature preserve.

Meg Rousher shot the video at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in Fort Myers and posted it to social media Wednesday.

The video shows what appears to be a full grown bobcat climbing onto the boardwalk.  It begins to walk her direction before reconsidering and leaping off the wood handrail back into the cypress trees.

Rousher writes that the sighting seen in the video was actually the 2nd time she spotted the bobcat that morning.

According to Florida Fish and Wildlife, bobcats are widely distributed around the state, but are very stealthy and not often seen.
