A drunk woman in front of her child; that's what police say they encountered when they pulled a woman over in Collier County on Tuesday.

It happened Tuesday night after a hit and run crash near one of the busier intersections in the county.

It's not clear how bad the hit and run was, but when deputies found the suspect, she appeared intoxicated, and her daughter was in the backseat of her car.

"If you have a problem, get it taken care of.  Don't involve your kids in it," said Amy Boldrey who lives near the scene.

Collier County deputies spotted Amanda Fisher driving erratically through the parking lot of the Hampton Inn off Northbrooke Plaza Drive Tuesday night.  The deputy followed her to Hodges University, where he noticed damage on the front of her car and her 11-year-old daughter in the backseat.

The child wasn't hurt, but Amanda was arrested on DUI charges, though she told deputies she had nothing to drink.

"I don't know what to say about a parent driving drunk with their kid in the car, pretty sad," said Carl Olson, who also lives nearby.

Fisher is also charged with leaving the scene of a crash, but it's not clear what exactly was hit.

Fox 4 asked the Collier County Sheriff's Office if DCF is investigating the case, but did not hear back Wednesday.
