Cape police searching for armed suspects

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Cape Coral Police are actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred near the Lowe's located at Veterans Parkway at Santa Barbara Boulevard.

The robbery happened around 7:30 PM Monday night. Police say three black men and one black woman robbed the woman, getting away with her purse and phone.

They fled the scene in a white 4 door vehicle, which crashed a short way down the road at Skyline Boulevard and Veterans Parkway. 

One suspect was injured in the crash and taken into custody, 19-year-old Taudarian Jackson.

The other three took off on foot. K-9 and a helicopter were used to apprehend another suspect, a 16-year-old male, who was driving the getaway car. 

Two suspects, a black male and female, are still on the loose. One is believed to still be armed.

Officers have expanded the search area and are asking residents in the area to secure doors and windows on their homes and limit going outside while the alert remains in effect.
