UPDATE 1:45 p.m.:

Deputies have identified the body as 48-year-old Bradley Sugar, reported missing on Jan. 7.

A witness taking down Christmas light witnessed a body floating in the pond on Sunday, Jan. 12.

Investigators determined it was Sugar.

Deputies were in the area on Jan. 7 because Sugar's mother called to report him missing.

She lives out of state and told deputies she got a frantic call from Sugar who said he was out of his medication.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Sugar sounded out of breath and his mother couldn't make out much of what he was saying.

When deputies searched his house, the door was open and it was in disarray. While investigators say they searched for Sugar, he was never found and reported as missing.

It's not known yet how he died.
