NAPLES, Fla. — If you're looking for a job, are good in the kitchen, a people-person, and want to work for a company that gives back to our community, this job opportunity could be the one for you.

St. Matthew's House is hiring baristas for its LuLu's Kitchen in Naples. The non-profit focuses on helping people who are homeless, hungry, or addicted.

Marsha McGhee has been a Barista at LuLu's Kitchen for the last two months.

"I love it so much," McGhee said. “The food is so good.”

She said her favorite item on the menu is the Lamb Burger. But the biggest draw to working at LuLu's Kitchen is its affiliation with St. Matthew's House.

"I just graduated the Jill's Place recovery program in February. It's a rehab program. A year-long recovery program. And this is a place where I could come and be held accountable, and work and in a safe environment," McGhee said.

Whether you're in recovery like McGhee or not, St. Matthew's House would love to have you join their team of baristas in LuLu's Kitchen.

"What is your day-to-day like here?” Fox 4 Morning News Anchor Lisa Greenberg asked McGhee.

"I wait on people in the drive thru because we have a drive thru. I make coffees, like cappuccinos. I also serve tables, clean tables," she said.

Sean Dietzel, the Executive Chef at LuLu's Kitchen, said you don't necessarily need barista experience to apply.
"It's not a big deal. We'll teach. That's kind of the advantage of working at LuLu's Kitchen -- we are a teaching facility,” he said.

All the money made at LuLu's Kitchen, goes back into St. Matthew's House to help others with their food distributions, recovery programs, and other initiatives.

"We're feeding the community good, wholesome, and good quality food out front. Our feeding ministry in the back. We feed Justin's Place. We feed the homeless down at the firehouse," Dietzel said.

"What kind of qualities do you think make someone a good fit for this job?” Lisa Greenberg asked.

"Well, you have to be personable. You have to like people, and I like to talk to the customers and make sure that they enjoy it here, and that they'll be back and they bring other people with them," McGhee said.

"We need individuals that are self motivated, don't mind working, and enjoy the mission, or are in love with the mission that we're doing," Dietzel said.

It's a mission Dietzel said he believes in because it saved his life six years ago.

"So what a better way to give back to the community and to the organization that that saved my life?" he said.
"What's your favorite part about working here?” Lisa Greenberg asked.

"I would just say the people that come in, and also St. Matthew's House. Them and God have saved my life, so I encourage others," McGhee said.

LuLu's Kitchen is open from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. McGhee said if you're interested in a good paying job, working with people who care about you, you should apply. For more information on this job and others available with St. Matthew's House, click here.
