FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — The Town of Fort Myers Beach says they may postpone short term vacation rentals.
In a press release, the Town said the rentals would not be rented unless Governor DeSantis lifts the COVID-19 ban by May 15.
The Town Council is following guidelines set by state and federal officials.
They adopted the re-opening date of Friday, May 15, 2020, for hotels, motels, and timeshares in the Town.
Please note that this May 15 opening date only includes vacation short term rentals if Governor DeSantis lifts the ban.
If reservations have been made at a vacation short term rental for May 15, three days remain for them to be canceled with a refund.
The Town says they will strictly enforce the ban order instituted by the Governor should rental owners or property managers fail to comply.
