SARASOTA, Fla. — Students with special needs in Sarasota are getting ready for the holidays by selling products they’ve worked all year to make.
Oak Park School in Sarasota has special programs and curriculum for special needs students from Pre-K to age 22.
Students who are working to transition from school to the workforce are getting experience by selling gifts, ornaments, ceramics and crafts during their second annual Holiday Bazaar.
School staff says the bazaar is a great opportunity for the students to interact with people and give them skills to prepare for the workforce.
"You see academic gains. You see them working on career readiness skills. So you can’t be here and not get excited and feel the energy about what it is that the student and faculty are doing at this school," said Jamie Lowicz, Oak Park School Principal.
