CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A long-time Cape Coral family amusement destination has changed names but says they're still offering the same amenities and more.

Former Red Sox player Mike Greenwell had owner Greenwell's Bat-a-Ball and Family Fun Park for many years at its location on Pine Island Road just east of Santa Barbara Boulevard.

Now customers are greeted with a new sign out front and a new name for the facility, which is under new ownership.

The park was sold in early April and the new owners couldn't keep the name Greenwell's, so they paid homage to the former baseball star and owner by giving it his nickname: Gator Mike's.

The name isn't the only change. The new owners have upgraded many parts of the 10-acre park, including the arcade, and next month they will debut the largest ropes course and zip line in Southwest Florida.

Don't worry, many of the Greenwell staples like the batting cages, go karts, haunted hike, and other community events are here to stay.
