PINE ISLAND, Fla. — If you're looking for weekend plans that are unique to Southwest Florida, a new festival is coming to Pine Island.
Saturday, the community is celebrating their first annual IslandFest Mullet Toss and Seafood Festival.
Organizers say the event will hold onto several island traditions, while offering several new fun activities.
It will include local seafood vendors, arts and crafts vendors, fishing seminars, cast net demonstrations, local music, and a mullet toss.
Wednesday morning, Fox 4 is joining organizers in Matlacha to show off some fun attractions coming to the event.
The IslandFest Mullet Toss and Seafood Festival will be on March 14 at Philips Park on Pine Island from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 but kids 12 and under are free.
