While innovation in cancer treatment is moving forward at a faster rate than ever before, the need remains great for non-treatment based innovation to support cancer care for patients and caregivers on a day-to-day basis. For many, additional tools and resources are needed to deal with the cancer experience and help address the daily challenges.
To help meet this unmet need in the cancer community, Astellas Oncology and Stanford University Medicine X
along with Robert Herjavec, star of ABC’s Emmy Award-winning hit television show Shark Tank, launched the C3 Prize to discover new tools and resources that can help patients, their caregivers and their loved ones live better lives while they deal with their illnesses. More than 100 patients, caregivers, healthcare providers and technology entrepreneurs from around the world submitted innovations to revolutionize cancer care. The winners – one grand prize winner and two runners up -- will be announced on October 7th at the European Society of Medical Oncology Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Mark Reisenauer will discuss the C3 Prize, its mission and the need to improve cancer care. He’ll be joined by the grand prize winner who will discuss his/her innovation.
