A recent survey commissioned by Boston Scientific and conducted online by Harris Poll among over 2,000 U.S. adults during Men’s Health Awareness Month found that men are significantly more likely than women to feel comfortable talking to a physician about issues with their sex lives (73 percent vs. 62 percent). But, do patients know the questions to ask, especially about the different treatments?
According to this survey, roughly 4 in 5 Americans (79 percent) believe there are effective treatments for ED - with 2 in 3 (66 percent) saying they believe prescription medicine works. However, despite the fact that implants have been available for years, only one quarter of men (25 percent) believe that implants are an effective treatment for ED.
