There are an estimated 30 million U.S. adults who report symptoms consistent with dry eye; approximately 16 million have been diagnosed with dry eye disease by a healthcare professional. Findings from the National Eye C.A.R.E. (Current Attitudes Related to Eye Health) Survey show that most eye care professionals (ECPs) responded that today’s modern, multi-screen lifestyle (i.e., everyday use of mobile, tablet and computer screens) is a contributing factor to the rise in dry eye disease, and that the condition is continuing to become increasingly common.
