COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Despite heavy rains, the mulch fire in Eastern Collier County is still burning.
The fire started almost seven weeks ago on Jones Mining Road - and since the rain can't reach the bottom of mulch piles, they are still smoldering, North Collier Fire crews said.
Collier County contracted with a company to help them put out the ten acre fire, but it will cost them $2,500 per day.
