Nana made landfall as a hurricane overnight on the coast of Belize between Dangriga and Placencia and is now inland over southern Belize.
Nana will continue to move inland over Guatemala and extreme southeastern Mexico today and tonight. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph with higher gusts. Rapid weakening is forecast today and tonight, and Nana will likely become a remnant low on Friday.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles. The estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb.

Belize will take a direct hit from Nana early Thursday, followed by rapid weakening. The storm structure hasn't changed much through the day, and appears to be impacted by some northerly shear. Rapid weakening will occur once it moves inland Thursday.

NOAA Hurricane Hunter reports Nana continues westward with little change in strength.
Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph with higher gusts. Strengthening is expected, and Nana is forecast to become a hurricane later today or tonight before it reaches the coast of Belize. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles from the center. The minimum central pressure estimated from an NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft observations is 996 mb.

Nana is expected to become a hurricane before making landfall on Thursday in Belize. The storm has looked somewhat impressive on satellite this evening but is still dealing with some wind shear. The official forecast from NHC brings it to Category 1 hurricane status before landfall on Thursday, followed by weakening.

Hurricane hunters have found a new tropical storm in the Caribbean, named Nana. It is heading W with winds of 50 mph. Some strengthening is expected before making landfall in Central America in a couple of days. There is NO threat to Florida.
