WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Governor Rick Scott announced today that all public K-12 schools, state colleges, state universities, and state offices will close effective immediately in preparation for Hurricane Irma. They will remain closed through Monday.
Governor Scott says the move will allow officials to ensure adequate space for sheltering and staging emergency response efforts.
